Introduction
The portfolio is a crucial component in the internship and job search process. More than a cumulative summary of work, this document presents an opportunity to establish a cohesive picture of yourself as a prospective employee that transcends individual projects and accomplishments. Well considered and designed portfolios provide additional insights that come from editing and organizing a significant body of work into a single whole.

Intermediary vs final documents
Students will submit assignments in preparation for each group meeting during the semester (see schedule on page 2). Though much of this information may not become part of the final portfolio, these exercises are instrumental to the elaboration of the final portfolio.
These assignments will be posted on the ftp folder at: LSA 455_655_16S_Portfolio Workshop / submissions / assignment # / group #
The workshop assignments will lead to the production of 2 portfolios: a full version as well as a shorter, edited version. Consider the “mini-portfolio” is a 2-4 page document to accompany a cover letter sent to a prospective employer, and may not be returned to you.
Print and digital versions of each portfolio are required. The print version should be exactly (format, binding, paper, etc..) what you plan to carry into an interview; the digital version exactly what you would email a prospective employer.
Reference
Reference materials (portfolio examples, syllabus, course assignments, slides, samples of course assignments from past students, etc..) are available on the ftp folder at: LSA 455_655_16S_Portfolio Workshop / resources
